Farmers Market One

On the heels of the successful (White House) Garden One, president recently mentioned (among other things) when speaking about food and health that there should be a farmers market in front of the White House...

It gives suddenly D.C. more access to good, fresh food, but it also is this enormous potential revenue-maker for local farmers in the area. And—and that—those kinds of connections can be made all throughout the country, and—and has to be part of how we think about health.

Quite a lot of mention of connecting fresh food to school lunches as well... sounds like good material for the upcoming Time For Lunch event being put on by Slow Food.
