Winter CSA: Week 1

Oops some technical difficulties in getting this post up Saturday morning this first week but hopefully this will be up each Saturday morning.

Welcome aboard! We are so pleased to be getting started! Without further ado:

Salad Mix

Cilantro

Arugula

Swiss Chard

Kale (3 older varieties of open pollinated curly kale)

Baby Cabbages (wasn't a great year for our cabbages but we used seed varieties from the Slow Food Huron Valley project "Great Lakes Heirloim Seed Trial".

The super sweet carrots are Napoli variety and come courtesy of Seeley Farm @ Tilian Farm Development Center (from time to time I may include a few items from the new farmers getting started at Tilian. I will always label these. In this case grasshoppers ate half of my carrots this fall and I was excited to include these from Alex & Mark . Alex worked previously at Tantre Farm and was an assistant farmer for Brines Farm fall 2009 through spring 2011... We certainly miss her but wish her success with her new farm!)

We'll see most of you next Saturday prior to 11:45am for market pickups. Enjoy!
