3.75lbs of CO2 for each 1/2 Gal carton of OJ

I think we'll start seeing more studies like this one PepsiCo did on their Tropicana line of Orange Juice.



Update: Thanks to the comment section... the academic arena I work in has some work for comparison but a more simpler way to get an idea of just how this compares to life is to check out some of the many Carbon Calculators available out there. This isn't carbon per se but the Ecological Footprint Calculator from ReDefining Progress continues to be refined and takes a lot of considerations around food including whether you grow food and how you buy it etc..

  • So Shannon, how does that compare to anything else? For example, the carbon footprint of driving one's auto for 1 mile?

    Sorry to be ignorant but until we see some comparisons, these figures won't be too helpful.
