Winter CSA: Week 11
Sorry a bit delayed on the post but here is the contents of this past weekends' share...

Winter salad mix (mostly claytonia)

Spinach

Baby (red giant) mustard greens

Swiss chard

Kale

And eggs from farm neighbor/shareholder Cynthia Zuccaro and her farm Casa del Pollo Contento. She raises a wide variety of heritage breed chickens which are fed certified organic feed, range free on pasture, and provide eggs of a beautiful variety of colors. Just recently Cynthia mentioned to me that they “supplement the hens, during the winter when pasture is limited, with organic sprouts, dried fruit, nettle & alfalfa tea, and a small amount of Brines Farm greens :o) So the eggs are still very nutritious and high in omega 3.” We hope you enjoy them! Recipe tip for greens and eggs: at the end of the week, dice up all remaining greens /veggies and add them to a quiche.
