Winter CSA: Week 18

Well apparently winter's grip is hanging on tight and re-established its dominance this week. Eventually the length of day will overrule cold nights although overnight lows below 20 right now are a bit tricky dealing with. We have about one full hoophouse worth of baby greens awaiting some high pressure blue sky days (of which we are below average receiving since about the third week of January). In short those baby greens which would are 21 days to grow under ideal conditions are simply going to take longer to arrive. On a side note, the wind chill and biting cold are a bit of a bummer on the covered field crops which we will not uncover until the wind chills subside and overnight lows are more regularly staying in the upper 20s near freezing.

Spinach

Mustard greens

Kale

Winter Salad Mix (yes it does still have a bit of claytonia in it but there are some additional greens to add in at this point)

Carrots

Onions

Dry beans

Dry hot peppers
